Far better known than the 2 previous stories-- if only thanks to Hollywood-- is the story of "Samson". A muscle-bound hero, a gorgous-but-devious woman, and scheming villains-- this is "classic" fodder for the movies here!
Unlike "Deborah" and "Gideon", which it follows, the story of "Samson" made its debut in the BOYS' LIFE series in May 1955, only about 3 years into it. I can't help but wonder why, with all the lavish attention to detail put on the versions of the stories in the late 70's-early 80's, they skipped these last 3 stories several times running? Nevertheless, "Samson" was covered 6 times over the years, includng twice by Anthony Castrillo (an artist who specialized in superheroes-- no surprise there!).
