The 5th version of the story of "David" was by far the most detailed yet. While the 3rd (in 1961) had gone on for 8 episodes, this one clocks in at 20 installments!
While the section dealing with Hannah, Samuel & Saul had been introduced before, this version also dealt with Eli's time as King, when The Ark Of The Covenant was stolen by The Phillistines. It was tempting to post this sequence separately, but it's so intrinsically tied in with the later events surrounding Saul & David, I decided to present it all together. Only the later events with "Solomon" are grouped separately, even as I kept the story of "Joshua" separate from "Moses".
Because Frank Bolle illustrated the exact same version of the story twice, I reccomend clicking on the link for Part 3 and opening up a separate browser, so you can flip between the two versions and scroll down each one to compare.
