Compared to the 2 previous versions, the next retelling of the story of "David" was quite brief, harkening back to the earliest versions in 1952-1955.
This was balanced out by the next version after that, in 2007 (the most recent when I first set up this blog), which once again covered "Samuel" as well as "Saul" and "David".
Over the course of the series, the story of "Samuel" was covered 5 times; "David" as King, 8 times; but the story of "David and Goliath", 9 times!
